Leroy Rodrigues, an original student of Richard "Biggie" Kim in San Francisco and student of Toyama Kanken, Kinjo Hiroshi, Gogen Yamaguchi, and Yoshida Kotaro, demonstrates and teaches these forms with history and bunkai. The katas are shown in slow motion and at performance pace.
This set presents the original forms that came from Okinawa to Japan, going as far back as the 1700's. DVD #1 covers Matsumura Passai, Koryu Jion, Chatan Yara Kushanku, Arakaki Seisan, and Wanshu; #2 covers Ananku, Shinpa Shodan, Shinpa Nidan, and Juroku; #3 covers Yabu Chinto, Arakaki Sochin, Arakaki Niseishi, Itosu Lohai, and Matsumura Lohai; #4 covers Wan Kuak, Sansei Ru, Yabu Useshi, Arakaki Unsu and Kururumfa.
