This 5 DVD set teaches traditional Okinawan kobudo weapons training with instruction from Kobudo Master instructors Brian Ricci and Frank Gaviola of the Zen Bei Butoku Kai.
The set covers the basics, offensive and defensive techniques, katas, and advanced moves for Bo, Kama, Jo, Sai, Tongfa, Yari, and Naginata. You can watch each form from 2 different angles and at teaching, learning, and performance speeds to see the details clearly.
Ricci and Gaviola learned these forms directly from Hanshi Richard Kim of the Butoku Kai, who learned them from Toyama Kanken and Hiroshi Kinjo at the end of WWII in Yokohama Japan.
