Master Saito’s Jo techniques are shown in this rare Aikido Morihito Saito - The Jo Staff Dvd B/W & Color No Sound release from Rising Sun. It highlights his practical approach, advanced combinations, throws, locks, pins, and more.
This DVD also teaches the original version of Aikido’s Jo Kata, with each of the 31 moves shown in three different directions so you can study every motion. The tape includes Master Saito demonstrating and teaching a class of foreign students in Jo usage.
The first portion is Black & White with sound, and the remainder is full color but has NO SOUND. It was transferred from old 8mm film believed to have been filmed in the early 1950s and remains some of the only footage left of Master Saito.
