Basic Bokken Aikido DVD featuring Jose Luis Ishidro from Rising Sun.
To deepen your understanding of Aikido's creation and evolution, this DVD looks to its origins in traditional Japanese sword handling. Unlike traditional Kenjutsu schools, Aikido Bokken practice uses the weapon to target the opponent directly while avoiding any direct clash of blades.
The core skills mirror empty-handed practice, with a focus on directing the energy that flows from the aggressor and their weapon. For more combat sports content, see Boxing.
