This is one of the most influential combat shooting books ever published and is a result of Capt. W.E. Fairbairn's and Capt. E.A. Sykes' practical experience with the handgun from their many close-quarters gunfights while working for the Shanghai Municipal Police in the 1930s. "Shooting to Live" describes the practical methods they developed and practiced. It has been adopted by numerous police organizations in the Far East and elsewhere. It covers everything from the purpose of the pistol, to selection, training, advance methods and more! This was the first time that fighting with firearms was clearly and explicitly disassociated from classical target/range shooting. The proven techniques displayed have spawned most modern pistol techniques because of their simplicity and effectiveness.
