The straps fit around the dumbbell handles to hold them in the stand. Each end of a single strap snaps around the dumbbell stand, and the strap buckles around the dumbbell handle. Item is sold as a pair, so if you need to replace the strap for both dumbbells, this pair has you covered. If you only need to replace one strap, you will have a spare.
