The bolt and washer are used at the ends of the dumbbell handles that fit the standard plates. The washer is used as a retainer for the weighted plates used on the dumbbell handle. The washer keeps the plates from sliding off the end of the handle while the bolt holds the washer in place. Bolt uses a 5/16" allen wrench.
