Better Late Than Never is a chess book from The House Of Staunton focused on the Tennison Gambit, an opening that begins with 1.Nf3 d5 2.e4, or less often 1.e4 d5 2.Nf3.
The story behind the opening traces back to Otto Tennison, a 19th-century Danish player who allegedly shifted away from 1.e4 after growing tired of complex theory. The book presents this neglected line as a surprise weapon that can lead opponents into unfamiliar positions from move one.
Written by Uwe Bekemann, who holds the title of National Correspondence Chess Master and has authored and co-authored several opening books, this title is a strong fit for readers building an opening library in Accessories > Chess Books.
