Chess Camp - Volume 1 is a beginner chess training book by Igor Sukhin, published by Mongoose Press in 2010. It is designed for new chess players, as well as parents and coaches who teach them.
This 116-page book uses Figurine (FAN) notation and starts with simple problems before moving to more complex positions. In this first volume, Move, Attack, and Capture, students learn how the chess pieces move, how to read the board, how to look for threats and captures, and how to build an understanding of elementary tactics.
Igor Sukhin has used chess to teach children for more than two decades, and his books have been repeatedly recommended by the Russian Department of Education. You can browse more titles in our Chess Books category or compare it with 202 Checkmates For Children.
