Chess Competitions 1824-1970

Annotated International Bibliography of chess books, chess bulletins and chess programs. This bibliography aims to provide, for the first time and comprehensively, and extensive record of publications on chess competitions held the world over from 1824, the year in which the correspondence match between the Edinburg and London Chess Clubs began, up until 1970. Various countries and languages are covered, whereas past bibliographies on this subject only addressed publications in a given language or country..

The book is divided into five parts, based on the type of competition. Part I deals with individual tournaments; Part II with individual matches; Part III with team tournaments; Part IV with team matches; and Part V with correspondence competitions. 3096 chess competitions have been tracked through 5.066 publications.
