Chess Psychologist World Champion Tal is a published chess book by Ishi Press about Mikhail Tal’s rise from Riga, Latvia to World Chess Champion by 1960.
It explores Tal’s idea of “Chess Psychology,” Bobby Fischer’s famous response, and Tal’s 4-0 win over Fischer in the 1959 World Championship Candidate's Tournament in Bled, Zagreb and Belgrade Yugoslavia. The book includes 60 games in Descriptive Notation annotated by Alexander Liepnieks and other Latvian masters including Edmars Mednis, Paul Tautvaisas and John Tums, based on Tal’s Latvian notes. It also includes Tal's Chess Quiz based on 10 of Tal's games, with a warning that it is too difficult.
