The 1983 U.S. Open is a chess book from Chess Enterprises that covers what is described as the largest U.S. Open in history and the strongest U.S. Open in history.
It features 9 Grandmasters and 14 International Masters, including GM Viktor Korchnoi, who became available when the Soviet Union forfeited the match by Kasparov, scheduled to be played during the Open. A selection of 159 games captures the intensity of the event, along with the round-by-round story, photographs, and the complete final results table.
