This 95-page volume uses Algebraic (AN) notation and covers two previously unpublished double-round tournaments: Buffalo 1901, won by Pillsbury ahead of Delmar, Napier, Howell, Marshall, and Karpinski, and Buffalo 1894, where Showalter edged Pillsbury by half a point, followed by Albin and Farnsworth.
It also includes all the serious games contested between Pillsbury and Marshall, plus an article on blindfold play by Pillsbury. The book includes 18 photos and drawings and offers solid material on U.S. chess history of that era.
