Chess Exam: You Vs. Bobby Fischer is a 190-page chess training book by Igor Khmelnitsky, published in 2009 by IAMCOACH. It uses Figurine (FAN) notation and presents unaltered fragments from Bobby Fischer’s games, putting you in the opponent’s seat.
The book includes a warm-up section, 60 games split into 5 matches of 12 games each, “let’s take a break” sections, a rating tables section with an overall rating plus 13 sub-category ratings, an appendix with a bonus match, a sudden death tiebreaker, and tips and recommendations.
As you work through positions ranging from middlegame to endgame, and from tactics to strategy, you are asked to find Fischer’s best response and justify your thinking. Learn more in Uncategorised.
