English Chess Explosion - From Miles To Short is a Batsford Chess title about England’s rapid rise in international chess.
It covers February 1976, when England gained its first Grandmaster, Tony Miles, and follows the country’s progress through weekend tournaments, careful training, and sponsorship. The description also highlights later Grandmasters Ray Keene, Michael Stean, John Nunn and John Speelman, plus the 1980 tally of 19 first prizes in international tournaments.
The book also focuses on rising talent, including Nigel Short, who became the youngest International Master in chess history at 14 1/2. For more browsing, visit Uncategorised or see 5 Dvd Set Bruce Lee Complete Movie Collection.
