Notes of a Soviet Master is a 54-page chess book by Alexander Ilyin-Genevsky, published by Caissa Editions and written in Algebraic (AN) notation.
Translated by Bernard Cafferty from the original Russian edition of 1929, it offers a personal account of Ilyin-Genevsky’s early chess career and Soviet chess in the 1920s, supported by fifty of his games from his entire career, including his sacrificial win over Capablanca.
The book also gives unique insight into life in Russia before and after the 1917 October Revolution, through the perspective of a prominent revolutionary and chess figure. Browse more in Uncategorised or view another chess title like Clearance - Nic Yearbook 29 - Paperback Edition.
