Recreate a classic tournament look with the Skopje 1972 Olympiad Reproduction Chessmen from The House Of Staunton. This set is modeled after the legendary chessmen used at the 1972 Chess Olympiad in Skopje, Macedonia (formerly Yugoslavia).
The King stands 4.4" tall with a 1.85" base. The original chessmen were lacquered natural and brown-stained boxwood, and this set includes an extra pair of Queens for Pawn Promotion, a feature pioneered by us in 1995. These chessmen play and display best on a chessboard with 2.25 – 2.375" squares.
