The Modernized Modern Defense is a chess book from Thinkers Publishing by GM Daniel Fernandez, focused on the Modern as both a practical weapon and a philosophy of play.
Fernandez draws on a decade of experience using the Modern as one of his main openings, explaining the concepts and theory in rigorous detail while keeping the game enjoyable and understanding-based. The book also reflects his background as a chess author, columnist at ChessPublishing, and former winner of several national under-18 and under-21 titles.
