The Morphy Series Luxury Chess Pieces from The House of Staunton are a full club-sized chess set designed to echo the feel and craftsmanship of early Staunton sets.
This set features a 4.0" King with a 1.875" diameter base. Each of the 34 chessmen, including four Queens, is hand carved by master artisans and crafted from the highest grade woods. The kings have gold embossed English Leather base pads, while the other pieces use luxurious billiard cloth base pads.
The design is a reintroduction of a pattern produced by Jaques of London between 1850 and 1851, with massive board presence and classical Staunton styling. It also includes an individually numbered Certificate of Authenticity and an original manufacturer's plaque with adhesive backing.
