The Zagreb Elite Series Chess Pieces are a full tournament-sized set from The House of Staunton, inspired by one of the most popular chess sets used in major international tournaments during the 1950s and 1960s.
This set features a 3.875" King with a 1.75" diameter base. Each piece is hand carved by master artisans and crafted from the highest grade woods, with heavy weighting, luxurious billiard cloth base pads, and a beautiful finish.
Designed for durability, the set includes reinforced Pawn collars, stylized Knights, minimal Queen crenellations, and both styles of King finials (crosses) that are easily removable. It comes as 34 chessmen, including four Queens, a standard introduced by The House of Staunton in 1993.
