The Frank Camaratta Signature Travel Chess Set is a premium travel set with pegged chessmen crafted from boxwood and Ebony. The pieces and pawns stand 1-0″ tall for easy identification and play.
For added durability, the chessmen use solid brass pegs that fit into brass sleeves inserted into holes in the chessboard, helping prevent broken wooden pegs and worn holes that can cause loose pieces.
The set is housed in a flat Figured Walnut matched veneer wooden box with logo. A drawer pulls out to reveal the chessboard with 1-0″ screen and maple squares for improved visibility, plus two rows per side to store captured pieces. The lid is designed to be inverted and slid back under the chessboard so the unit stays together as a single piece.
This travel chess set also includes two Special Pieces per side: the Archbishop and the Chancellor. The accompanying pamphlet explains the two variants, Sharper Chess invented by Grandmaster Yasser Seirawan and Master Bruce Harper, and C-Chess suggested by International Master Frank Camaratta.
