Grob's Angriff presents Henry Grob's groundbreaking work on the move 1. g2-g4, a chess opening known for creating danger for both White and Black. Written by Henry Grob, a portrait painter, newspaper columnist, and international chess master, this edition focuses on one of the most unusual and aggressive opening ideas in chess.
Grob had strong results in tournaments from the nineteen-twenties through the nineteen-fifties, including tied first through third with Grandmaster Reuben Fine and Grandmaster Paul Keres in Ostend in 1937, second through fourth behind Grandmaster Laszlo Szabo in Hastings in 1947 and 1948, and tenth at the Bad Pyrmont World Championship Zonal in 1951, won by Grandmaster Svetozar Gligoric.
