Miniatures In The Ruy Lopez: Main Lines is a chess opening book from Russell Enterprises focused on miniature games in the Ruy Lopez main lines.
The Ruy Lopez, also called the Spanish Opening, arises here after 1 e4 e5 Nf3 Nc6 3 Bb5 a6 4 Ba4 Nf6 5 0-0, with a few exceptions for move order and similar details. The book emphasizes the lines most likely to appear in your games rather than overwhelming you with theory you may rarely use.
As Grandmaster Peter Heine Nielsen noted, this approach offers a thorough theoretical coverage while showing the “purified version” of a successful strategy. Browse more titles in Accessories > Chess Books or compare it with Miniatures In The Sicilian Najdorf.
