This volume covers his first years of exile in France, major international tournaments on both sides of the Atlantic, rivalries with Rubinstein and Nimzowitsch, the training match with Euwe, and the drama of three world championship matches with Capablanca and Bogoljubov.
It presents 84 games and fragments, including 46 never before published in books, with contemporary commentary from the protagonists and other leading players, writers, and journalists of the period.
