Its original design has the look and feel of a traditional Staunton pattern chess set for immediate recognition and use. The Birch pieces feature an artistic design hand burnt into the chess pieces by the artists, and the King and Queen pieces feature crowns made of the opposing wood type for a striking color contrast.
The complimentary chess board is designed to provide the perfect amount of contrast for the hornbeam natural and stained chess pieces. It features a rich lacquered finish, traditional rank and file labels around the perimeter, folds in half for easy storage, and includes two compartments inside for storing the chess pieces when not in use.
