The London System - Properly Played is a chess book from Joachim Beyer Verlag focused on one of the game’s most reliable and popular openings.
Once played mainly by amateurs, the London System has earned a place at the highest level, with Magnus Carlsen using it in important games. The book also reflects how top players such as Kramnik, Grischuk, and GM Gata Kamsky have helped confirm its practical value.
It is easy to learn, extremely solid, often underestimated, and capable of leading to interesting positions while leaving space for your own ideas. Thanks to modern computer analysis, the theory has developed tremendously, and improvements appear throughout almost every chapter.
