The Paulsen Luxury Chess Pieces are a distinguished revival of the 1852 Jaques Club Size Paulsen Chessmen, recreated in select Boxwood and rich Genuine Ebony with careful attention to the original pattern.
The King stands 4.32" tall with a 1.95" diameter base, and each chess piece is properly weighted with traditional green billiard cloth base pads for stability. The Kings are mounted on luxurious gold-embossed Black English leather pads and stamped "F.A. Camaratta" along the rim of the base.
In keeping with period practice, the Kingside Rooks and Knights are each stamped with a crown on their summits. An extra pair of Queens is included for pawn promotion, and the set is best paired with a board featuring 2.5" squares.
