The Reti Opening - Properly Played is a chess book from Joachim Beyer Verlag about the quiet, solid Réti Opening: 1.Ng1-f3 d7-d5 2.c2-c4.
It explains why these positions call for more positional understanding than tactical skill, and it is aimed primarily at amateurs who want an opening that is easy to learn through key ideas and general setup plans rather than heavy theory.
Readers can also study selected continuations to deepen their knowledge, while using the opening to navigate the transition from opening to middlegame with steady positional play and room for research and experimentation.
The book also includes many tournament games showing the Réti Opening in action, helping readers recognize typical motifs, subtle ideas, and natural development in different lines and setups. See more in Uncategorised or related chess reading like 5 Dvd Set Bruce Lee Complete Movie Collection.
