Its original design has the look and feel of a traditional Staunton pattern chess set for immediate recognition and use. The Birch pieces feature artistic hand-burnt details, and the King and Queen pieces use crowns made of the opposing wood type for a strong color contrast.
The complimentary chess board provides contrast for the beech natural and stained chess pieces and has a rich lacquered finish. It includes traditional rank and file labels, folds in half for easy storage, and has individual compartments inside the board to store the chess pieces when not in use. All European Collection Chess Sets are made from renewable plantation wood, making them eco friendly.
