The Burnt Golden Rosewood Grandmaster Series Chess Set, Box, & Satin Board Combination brings together finely crafted chessmen, a satin-finish wooden chessboard, and a Premium Chess Box in one complete set.
The chessmen feature a 4.0" King with a 1.625" diameter base. Each piece is hand carved by master artisans and crafted from the highest grade woods, with heavy weighting, luxurious billiard cloth base pads, and a beautiful finish. In the Burnt Grandmaster Series Chess, both the dark army and light army are crafted out of Boxwood. Each set includes 34 Chessmen, including four Queens, a standard introduced by The House of Staunton in 1993.
The board is the House of Staunton Standard Traditional Blackwood / Olive Wood Wooden Chessboard - Satin Finish, crafted in Spain with Blackwood (dark) and Olive Wood (light) squares, a Blackwood frame, a veneered construction, 0.5'' thickness, and a gloss finish. The Premium Chess Box is lined in green billiard cloth, divided, and features brass quadrant hinges, a lock & key, and the House of Staunton logo laser engraved on the lid.
