The Carton-Pierre Casket & Board Combination pairs a reproduction Carton-Pierre chess board with the matching Carton-Pierre casket from The House Of Staunton.
The chess board features 2.25" squares, a chess board height of 0.625", and a chess board footprint of 20" x 20". The casket is scaled larger than the original to fit a king height up to 4.4" and includes space for 2 additional queens.
The casket box dimensions are 10" x 7 1/2" x 5". The Carton-Pierre board is a fine 3D-printed reproduction with a Neogothic exterior and a rich interior with red or green squares. The casket dates to the mid-19th Century and was designed in 1849 for Leuchars by Joseph L. Williams using carton-pierre material designed and manufactured by George Jackson & Sons.
