The Reykjavik II Series Library Chess Set And Tiroir Combination pairs the Reykjavik II Series Chessmen with a Classical Tiroir Display Chessboard for a complete display-and-storage setup.
This set is a scaled reproduction of the chess set used in the legendary 1972 World Chess Championship in Reykjavik, Iceland. The chessmen are hand carved from the highest grade woods, heavily weighted, finished with luxurious billiard cloth base pads, and designed for years of use. The King stands 3.25" with a 1.5" diameter base, and each set includes 34 chessmen with four Queens.
The included Classical Tiroir Display Chessboard has two drawers with individual compartments for piece storage, 1.75" squares, Walnut (dark) and Maple (light) squares with a Cherry frame, and an overall size of 17.5" x 17.5" x 4.5". The House of Staunton logo is silk screened on the h1 square, and each drawer holds 34 Staunton Pattern Chessmen; it is recommended for a 3.25" King or less on the 1.75" square Tiroir.
