The Reykjavik II Series Tournament Chess Set and Tiroir Combination from The House of Staunton pairs a historically inspired chessmen set with a practical display board for organized storage and play.
This full tournament-sized set features a 3.75" King with a 1.6" diameter base. The Chessmen are hand carved by master artisans from the highest grade woods, heavily weighted, finished beautifully, and fitted with luxurious billiard cloth base pads. The design is an exact reproduction of the set used in the legendary 1972 World Chess Championship between Robert J. Fischer and Boris Spassky.
Built for long-term use, the set includes reinforced Pawn collars and oversized Rook ramparts for added durability. Each new set contains 34 Chessmen, including four Queens.
The Chessmen come housed in a Classical Tiroir Display Chessboard with two drawers and individual compartments for piece storage. The veneered board has 2.25" squares, Walnut (dark) and Maple (light) squares, a Cherry frame, an overall size of 22.5" x 22.5" x 4.5", and a satin finish. The drawers also include an additional compartment for draughts (checkers). For more items in this range, browse Uncategorised or explore the 72" Net And Post.
