The Edmbg Damascus Steel Kiridashi is a Japanese-style utility knife made for everyday cutting tasks, garage use, home projects, kitchen work, hunting, and survival needs.
It measures 6.5" overall, with a 2.1" blade, 1/8" blade thickness, 3" handle plus 1" tail with lanyard hole, and 1.2" handle width. The knife weighs 0.2 lbs., and the sheath weighs 0.2 lbs. The steel is Damascus Carbon Steel, 15N20 + 1095. The blade has a Damascus steel back end and a smooth steel front, and because it is hand forged, thickness may vary at some points. The man made handle is functional and attractive, and the genuine cowhide leather sheath is 1/8" thick.
This blade is not the same as standard stainless steel, so it needs a little different maintenance: do not leave it in water for prolonged periods of time, do not clean it in the dishwasher, hand clean with soap and water, dry well, and apply a small amount of oil or lubricant to the surface. If surface discoloration or rust appears, clean it with WD40 or a similar product.
