The Orangutan is the chess opening that begins with White's move 1 b4. It is also known as the Polish Opening, and the name Orangutan was given by Tartakower after a visit to the zoo during the New York 1924 tournament.
Sokolsky published significant analysis of the opening in much of Europe, and author Wall has provided a thorough survey of current theory. It is not a radical opening, but it is a very playable choice for venturesome players who want to depart from the most analyzed openings.
