This ChessBase training course builds a practical Black repertoire around the compact d6–e5 pawn structure, with a focus on understanding rather than memorizing lines.
Against 1.e4, it uses the Philidor setup for rich positional play and quick piece development. Against 1.d4 and other closed systems, it keeps flexible development with the dark-squared bishop on e7 or g7 and an eye on the central break with ...e5.
