The House Of Staunton Collector Series Luxury Chess set features hand carved wood chess pieces crafted in Blood Rosewood and Boxwood. This full tournament-sized set includes a 4.0" King with a 1.8" diameter base.
Designed to replicate the original Staunton pattern Chessmen registered by Nathaniel Cooke in March of 1849 and first manufactured by Jaques of London in September 1849, this set includes the distinctive open-mitered Bishop and Knight design modeled after the noble steeds from the Greek Parthenon (Elgin Marbles.).
This is an imperfect item. The Blood Rosewood Bishop has a scrape on the base, the Blood Rosewood Knight has a crack on the midsection, and the Natural Boxwood Rook has some dents on the base. There may be other minor imperfections not pictured. All sales are final.
