The Morphy Series Chess set is a full club-sized set of wood chess pieces with a 4.0" King and a 1.875" diameter base. These pieces are hand carved by master artisans and crafted from the highest grade woods, with the classic Morphy design based on a Jaques of London pattern produced between 1850 and 1851.
This is an imperfect item, meaning it did not meet The House of Staunton's inspection standards. The reported defects include a Natural Boxwood Pawn with a dent on the base, another Natural Boxwood Pawn with a dark mark on the midsection, a Natural Boxwood Bishop with the top piece broken off, and a few Genuine Ebony pieces with scrapes or dings. There may also be other minor imperfections not pictured.
