Kramnik vs Deep Fritz - Chess Lecture - Volume 168 is a chess instructional video series from Chesslecture.com focused on Vladimir Kramnik’s second six-game match against Deep Fritz version 10 in Bonn, Germany, from November 25 to December 5, 2006.
The match ended 4–2 in favor of the machine, with two losses and four draws for Kramnik. Deep Fritz ran on a computer with two Intel Xeon CPUs, including a Xeon DC 5160 3 GHz processor, 1333 MHz FSB, and a 4 MB L2 cache, and was able to evaluate eight million positions per second. Kramnik received a copy of Deep Fritz in mid-October for testing, and the version used in the match included an updated opening book from that preliminary copy. The program was not changed during the match except for limited opening book updates, and its endgame tablebases were restricted to five pieces even though a complete six-piece tablebase was available at the time.
