The Broadbent Series Luxury Chess Set, Box, & Board Combination brings together The House of Staunton's reproduction of the Jaques of London Chessmen Circa 1935 Broadbent Staunton Pattern Chessmen, a premium chessboard, and a fitted storage coffer.
The chessmen feature a 4.4" King with a 1.9" diameter base and are very heavily weighted. Each set includes 34 chessmen, including four Queens, and comes with an Individually Numbered Certificate of Authenticity plus an original manufacturer's plaque with an adhesive backing for the underside of a chess box.
The board is crafted in Italy and features Vavona Burl (dark) and Maple (light) squares, a Vavona Burl frame, an inlaid design, 2.5" squares, 0.5" thickness, and a gloss finish. For protection and organized storage, the Fitted Coffer gives each piece its own compartment and includes brass quadrant hinges, a removable top tray, and a lock and key with tassel.
