The Reykjavik II Series Chess Pieces are a faithful reproduction of the chess set used in the legendary 1972 World Chess Championship. This full tournament-sized set features a 3.75" King with a 1.6" diameter base.
Hand carved by master artisans and crafted from the highest grade boxwood, the chessmen are heavily weighted and finished with luxurious billiard cloth base pads and a glossy finish. The design is an exact reproduction of the set used by Bobby Fischer in Reykjavik, Iceland, and includes reinforced Pawn collars and oversized Rook ramparts for added durability.
This new set consists of 34 Chessmen, including four Queens, a standard introduced by The House of Staunton in 1993. If you are exploring more classic designs, see the Uncategorised category or compare with the The Burnt Grandmaster Series Chess Pieces - 4.0" King.
