The Killarney Vintage Series Luxury Chess Pieces from The House Of Staunton are a refined reproduction of Victorian-era playing sets, presented as part of the Camaratta Pre-Staunton Signature Series.
This chessmen set is heavily weighted, finished beautifully, and fitted with luxurious billiard cloth base pads. Each set includes 34 Chessmen, including four Queens, a standard introduced by The House Of Staunton in 1993.
A brass disc weighting system is used because the bases are too shallow for traditional lead weighting. This helps provide excellent balance while avoiding the hairline cracking issues often associated with lead weights. The set also includes an Individually Numbered Certificate of Authenticity and an original manufacturer’s plaque with adhesive backing for placement on the underside of a chess box.
