Each piece is hand carved by master artisans from the highest grade woods. The set is heavily weighted, beautifully polished, and finished with green baize base pads. The individual bases are beveled to create the illusion of floating, and the profiles of the chessmen are designed to be harmonious.
This set consists of 34 chessmen, including four Queens, a standard introduced by The House of Staunton in 1993. Included with the purchase is the Original Manufacturer's Plaque, crafted from brass and engraved with the production details of each individual chess set.
