The Circa 1930 German Knubbel Vintage Series Luxury Chess Pieces are a full tournament-sized chess set with a 3.5" King and a 1.625" diameter base.
Hand carved by master artisans and crafted from the highest grade woods, these chess pieces are heavily weighted and finished with luxurious billiard cloth base pads. Each set includes 34 chessmen, including four Queens.
Inspired by a vintage 1930 German Knubbel set produced around 90 years ago in Denmark, this reproduction reflects the wide bases, solid rook styling, minimalist pawns, unique bishop cut, king without a cross finial, and queen without a ball that made the original a favorite analysis set of Bent Larsen.
