The Dubrovnik Series Chess Pieces are a full tournament-sized chess set from The House of Staunton, featuring a 3.75" King with a 1.75" diameter base.
Each piece is hand carved by master artisans from the highest grade woods, then heavily weighted with luxurious billiard cloth base pads and finished with a lacquered look. The set is an exact reproduction of the 1970s-era Dubrovnik Chess set, used in the 19th Chess Olympiad in Siegen, West Germany and made popular by Bobby Fischer.
Designed for practical play, the Dubrovnik Series uses sturdier bases and reinforced collars on all pieces to help withstand years of use and abuse. The set includes 34 Chessmen, including four Queens, a standard introduced by The House of Staunton in 1993.
