The Empire Series Luxury Chess Pieces from The House Of Staunton combine Art Deco-inspired styling with serious over-the-board play. This full Club-sized set features a 4.4" King with a 1.9" diameter base.
Each chess piece is hand carved by master artisans from the highest grade woods, then heavily weighted for a substantial feel. The Kings use gold embossed English Leather base pads, while the other pieces use luxurious billiard cloth base pads and a beautiful finish.
Designed by Frank A. Camaratta, Jr., this set is built to withstand practical play while keeping its elegance, simplicity, durability, and clarity. The set is new and consists of 40 Chessmen, including six Queens with two different designs and eight Rooks with two different designs.
