The Exotique Collection® Imperial Collector Series Chess Pieces from The House of Staunton are timeless chess designs handcrafted out of the most exotic woods available. This extremely limited edition offers only 5 sets of each wood while supplies last.
This full-tournament sized chess set features a 4.0" King with a 1.875" diameter base. The pieces are hand carved by master artisans and crafted out of the highest grade woods. They are heavily weighted, with gold embossed English Leather base pads under the Kings, luxurious billiard cloth base pads on the other chess pieces, and a beautiful finish.
The set is designed to replicate the original Staunton pattern chessmen registered by Nathaniel Cooke in March of 1849 and first manufactured by Jaques of London in September 1849. It includes the open-mitered Bishop and original Knight design sculpted by Frank A. Camaratta, Jr., plus 34 chessmen in total, including four Queens.
