The Fischer Spassky Series Chess Pieces are an exact reproduction of one of the most historically important chess sets ever produced: the set used in the legendary 1972 World Chess Championship between Robert J. Fischer and Boris Spassky.
This full tournament-sized set features a 3.5" King with a 1.5" diameter base. The pieces are hand carved by master artisans from the highest grade woods, then heavily weighted with luxurious billiard cloth base pads and a glossy finish to help accentuate the details.
Designed for practical play, the set includes reinforced Pawn collars and oversized Rook ramparts for added durability. Each set is new and contains 34 Chessmen, including four Queens, a standard introduced by The House of Staunton in 1993.
