The Imperial Collector Series Luxury Chess Pieces are a full club-sized chess set from The House of Staunton, designed with a 4.0" King and a 1.875" diameter base.
Each set includes 34 chessmen, including four Queens. The pieces are hand carved by master artisans from the highest grade woods, heavily weighted, and finished with gold embossed English Leather base pads under the Kings and luxurious billiard cloth base pads on the other chess pieces.
This set is crafted to replicate the design and proportions of the original Staunton pattern chessmen, registered by Nathaniel Cooke in March of 1849 and first manufactured by Jaques of London in September 1849. Its standout features include the open-mitered Bishop and original Knight design sculpted by Frank A. Camaratta, Jr.
