The Imperial Collector Series Prestige Chess Pieces from The House of Staunton are a full-tournament sized chess set with a 4.4" King and a 1.85" diameter base.
Each piece is hand carved by master artisans and crafted from the highest grade woods, using Genuine Ebony and Blood Rosewood. The set is heavily weighted, with gold embossed English Leather base pads under the Kings and luxurious billiard cloth base pads on the other chess pieces.
Designed to replicate the original Staunton pattern chessmen registered by Nathaniel Cooke in March of 1849 and first manufactured by Jaques of London in September 1849, this set features the open-mitered Bishop and original Knight design sculpted by Frank A. Camaratta, Jr. The Knight has a downturned head, flowing mane, and aggressive facial expression.
The set includes an individually numbered Certificate of Authenticity and an original brass manufacturer's plaque with adhesive backing for affixing to the underside of a chess box. Explore more Uncategorised chess products or compare it with The Grandmaster II Series Chess Pieces - 4.0" King.
